The film is directed by Kirill Sokolov, who previously made the cult film Why Don’t You Just Die!, in which he also combined over-the-top violence with black humour. The producers are Andy Muschietti and his sister Barbara Muschietti, known for the horror hits IT and IT Chapter Two. They Will Kill You is the first project from their new horror label Nocturna.
